Wyoming was a plethora of oil wells and windfarms and a new power plant going in by the coal mines near Gillette. We went through the Teapot Dome area near MidWest,WY. Mike's great grandpa Si Iba found oil there, discovered it and sold it, moving to Casper. That land is still known as the "Iba 80." He went thru a lot of women, booze and money, but if I remember grandpa Keith's story right, he married a real nice prostitute. Anyway- no oil $ to pass down - just good stories.
Anyway, with wireless, we checked out the Teaot Dome Scandal of the 1920s. That was considered the first political scandal uncovered. When the Sec of Interior accepted a $400,000 "gift" for leasing to Sinclair. Wonder if that's why there's still a lot of Sinclair stations in WY. The investigation by the Senate was spearheaded by Senator Walsh of MT.
