Cajun Country

We are in Creole - Cajun country.  Lake Charles and Sulphur, Louisiana. Ate 3 pounds of boiled crayfish at the Boiling Point  Wednesday night.  That was my first time --had to get a lesson.  If they didn't have the ugly heads and feelers, it wouldn't be so bad but it reminded me of the boys digging up  crawdads at the lake. We wouldn't think of eating them.

Our campground is really redneck - water hookup doesn't work,   Stray cats challenged Shopcat.  No sewer.  No picnic table, Hidden Ponds RV Park  a 5 star - I've got news for them.  They are going to send a check for the refund for the 2nd night we didn't stay.

This is a working mans town.  Refineries, originally sulphur mine but now a lot of petro chemical companies.

In Lake Charles this  riverfront with the French Name had a 9/11 memorial.  It really touched me.  Two men from the area died that day, one in the Pentagon bombing and one in NYC.
